DALLAS, TEXAS: A shooting incident took place in a Dallas school, injuring at least two students. A suspect has also been taken into custody, according to authorities. The shooting took place on Monday morning, March 20, in a high school campus in the suburb of Arlington at about 6.55 am. Many students had arrived after the spring break to attend classes, said police and school district officials.
As per Arlington independent school district spokeswoman Anita Foster, one student was hit by gunfire while the other one was injured by ‘debris from the shooting.’ Meanwhile, both the injured people are being treated for their injuries at a local hospital. She didn’t give any further details on the unfortunate event. In a series of tweets, Arlington police said, “We do not believe the suspected shooter ever entered the school. Officers were able to locate and take that individual into custody shortly after arriving on scene,” reported US News.

The school was placed on lockdown after the shooting and according to the latest tweet from the authorities, it has been lifted. “We have completed our search of Lamar HS and will begin releasing students. @ArlingtonISD students will be bussed to a reunification center at the AISD Athletics Center where parents / guardians can pick them up starting at 12.00 pm.”
