I-30 through downtown Dallas will close for much of this weekend
Drivers though downtown Dallas will face significant road shutdowns beginning after dark Saturday, October 24: At 10 pm Saturday all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-30 will be closed between the I-35E and I-45/US 75 interchanges. The roads will remain closed until 5 am Monday, October 26. I-30 through downtown Dallas will be closed for much of the weekend due to a $888 million reconstruction project between the I-35E and I-45/US 75 interchanges. All lanes of eastbound and westbound I-30 will be affected by 10pm Saturday, starting at 10pm and will remain closed until 5am Monday, October 26. Traffic will be diverted to Woodall Rodgers Freeway as an alternate east-west connection between I-350E and the I/45/75 interchanges during this time. The closures are part of the $888m project, with overall completion expected in 2031. Longterm closures and detours are also part of this project, including those from Cesar Chavez Boulevard, Botham Jean/Lamar Boulevard, and Griffin Boulevard.
