Dusty May Earns First NBA Win As Mavericks Beat Pacers, Cooper Flagg Exits Injured
INDIANAPOLIS — Mavericks coach Dusty May has his first NBA win, and it came in his home state. The Dallas Mavericks scored 44 points in the first quarter Friday night, led by as many as 37 points before halftime, and held off a second-half push from the Indiana Pacers for a 121-105 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Dusty May earned his first NBA win as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Pacers, while Cooper Flagg was injured. This was Irving's first regular-season game since he tore his left ACL in 2025. Despite the challenges, Irving credits his team's focus on the game and preparation. The Mavericks were outplayed by Houston, who outscored Dallas 38-12 in the second quarter. The Pacers' pace was also cited as a key issue for Dallas's defense, with Christie suggesting that their transition defense was a key factor. The teams were tied three times early in the game, before Washington responded with a three-point shot from Washington.
