Changes Coming For Cotton Bowl Stadium & Texas State Fair Park

Groundbreaking on a massive project has begun on Fair Park In Dallas, TX. The Dallas, Texas, city of Fair Park, is set to undergo major renovations to its facilities and facilities, including Cotton Bowl Stadium and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The renovations, estimated to cost about $300 million, will include the addition of 14 new escalators, construction of new multi-story entries at the two west entrance gates, increased seating areas, expanded art deco artwork, and an expanded press area in the South end zone. The project is expected to be the largest investment into Fair Park since 1936 and will be completed by 2025.

Fair Park In Dallas, TX Is One Of The Most Visited Sites In The Lone Star State But In A Few Years, Its Going To Have New Look.

If we're being perfectly honest here yall, we all can see that Fair Park is a need of an update. While some of the classic charm makes it feel special, a lot of the buildings in the complex are in falling apart.

Fair Park been standing for more than 130 years.

Most of the buildings and structures haven't been updated in at least a decade, including the famed Cotton Bowl Stadium which continues to host several events every year.

Dallas voters approved a proposition which would allow the city to raise its hotel tax by 2 percent to finance renovations for Fair Park's facilities and for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center downtown.

The renovations will cover six Fair Park structures.

The Automobile Building, Centennial Hall, the Fair Park Band Shell, the Music Hall at Fair Park, the stadium and Fair Park Coliseum are included in the renovations which are estimated to cost about $300 million.

Its said to be the largest investment into Fair Park since 1936.

The highly anticipated renovations focus on enhancements to the visitor experience including:

• The addition of 14 new escalators

• Construction of new multi-story entries at the two west entrance gates

• The upper west concourse will be increased to three times the current square footage and include two outdoor terraces with views of downtown Dallas.

• The main concourse on the west side of the stadium will be doubled in size, featuring new art deco artwork to augment the venue’s classic style.

• Restrooms and concession stands will get a makeover and more will be added

• Creation of new premium seating environments and a newly expanded press area in the South end zone

Renovations are scheduled to be completed at the 84-year-old stadium by the start of the 2025 State Fair of Texas.
