Shutdown of I-30 in downtown Dallas expected this weekend
Drivers traveling through downtown Dallas this weekend will need to find an alternate route as construction crews shut down a major stretch of Interstate 30. Construction crews are closing a major stretch of Interstate 30 in downtown Dallas, Texas, starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 and lasting until 5 a.m., according to TxDOT officials. All eastbound and westbound lanes of I-30 will be closed between the I-35E and I-45/U.S. 75 interchanges. The closure is part of an $888 million I-300 Canyon corridor improvement project, which targets the stretch of highway between the interstate and interchanges and is expected to be completed in 2031. The remaining closures include Cesar Chavez Boulevard, Akard Street, Botham Jean/Lamar Boulevard, Good Latimer Expressway, and Griffin Street.
