Dallas police are seeking the public’s help to identify a car and suspects in connection with a homicide last summer, releasing video footage related to the shooting Thursday.

Police said the vehicle is suspected in a homicide the morning of Aug. 25 in South Dallas, which killed 65-year-old Billy Oudems and left another man wounded.

The vehicle is described as a dark four-door sedan with a “very loud, distinctive exhaust sound” when it is driving, police said. An exhaust can be heard in the video police released.

About 5 a.m. Aug. 25, the sedan seen in the video drove down the 2700 block of Swanson Street, near Canal Street, police said.

Two people got out of the car and began shooting at a parked vehicle, police said, which was occupied by Oudems and another man, who was wounded.

Police said Oudems died at the scene and the wounded man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspect vehicle fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspects, the vehicle or the shooting may call detective Marc Bird at 214-671-3677 or email [email protected] and reference case No. 153045-2023.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment for the shooting or other felonies, police said, and may be called at 214-373-8477.
